Data Migration

You can migrate customer data into the Sage 200 Wholesale and Retail application.

Before you begin:

• You must have a fully configured Sage 200 database.
• The data for the core Sage 200 accounting product must have been created before you import your Sage 200 Wholesale and Retail data.

There are migration paths into this system from other accounting solutions. You must import the existing stock items into the product hierarchy structure.

There can be up to 4 phases to the import process, depending on how the company is set up. These are:

• Creating the product hierarchy.
• Adding dimensions to the existing product groups.
• Converting the existing stock items into styles with variants.
• Converting warehouses into stores.

This phased approach will require you to import several CSVComma Separated Value (CSV) file format. Sage 200 can import and export data in the CSV file format. files in sequence. Therefore this process should only be done by a recognised Business Partner or Professional Services provider.

An additional Sage 200 menu has been added to the Sage 200 Wholesale and Retail installation. This additional menu includes additional Migration options. This menu should only be used by the Business Partner or Professional Services provider for the purposes of migration. Sage 200 Wholesale and Retail users should only use the standard menu supplied with the application.
